Parents, Think Disney-esque for Success

As I've always said, if Moms are from Venus and Dads are from Mars, then children are definitely from Disneyland.  If we are to be successful understanding how young children think about sports we must set aside tendencies to think like Martians and Venetians or Moms and Dads and begin thinking more Disney-esque; in an animated, imaginary way where the world is full of joy and fun, and people are happy and open to the process of exploration.  Instead of trying to change that which cannot be changed--the limitations of young children--our thinking must force us to play in a way that we, as adults, forgot long ago - with our imaginations.

There is no reason, as many would like to believe, to begin anew.  By just reengaging that which lies dormant inside all of us, our imagination and silliness; we have everything necessary to help young children experience the fun, joy and excitement sports has to offer.
